What is a 2D barcode? 2D barcodes combine linear barcode technology with image scanning capabilities to provide better read rates and flexibility than linear codes. There are many different types of 2D barcodes, with QR codes being the most popular one. QR codes are typically used on small items like labels or packaging where space is limited (like on food packaging). They can also be used in print advertising and on business cards.
